Sailing on Galway Bay

This painting is inspired by Wednesday nights sailing on Galway Bay. I was lucky to spend a few years crewing on a beautiful boat racing on the Bay. More often than not I was in a trance from the lull of the waves, the beauty of the wind and the sail. This painting is in high summer with clear skies and light prevailing westerly winds. It is painted on repurposed old pine wood with oil and cold wax. It is panoramic; 40cm X 20.5cm.
