Forest bathing - Shinrin Yoka - Wellbeing in Nature - Green Therapy
This guided gentle session will help you develop and deepen your connection with the natural world. To do this we will slow down, connect with ourselves and become aware of the abundance and beauty all around. We will take time to savour and wonder. We will be gentle and compassionate with ourselves and others we may meet in our group.
As your guide I will suggest gentle ways, by invitation, to support your connection with nature. You may share your experiences, or you may choose not to, whatever is comfortable for you. You will have time alone to contemplate, discover, and do what feels nourishing and nurturing for you (move, be still, lie down…) and we will have time to be together, learn from each others’ nature connection experiences. Silence is welcome and respected if this is your wish.
A little about your guide Maeve
Maeve is a long time nature lover and feels her best when she is in fresh air and a natural environment. She has enjoys creating art, hill walking, yoga and meditation and general wellbeing practices to sooth, support and nourish her mind, body and soul. Maeve has worked in acute health care for over 20 years supporting families and individuals navigate difficult time. This has made her aware of the importance of engaging in activities that proactively support our wellness in all areas of mental, physical and spiritual positive health. To complement her training as a meditation teacher, Maeve has been drawn to train as a forest bathing guide as a means to enhance her opportunities to slow down and savour this precious life in the wild outdoors. Maeve is looking forward to sharing the insights and wisdom learned in this training.
A little more information about what to expect;
This is not a nature walk or foraging, I will not be identifying plants, herbs,or trees.
This is very gentle movement rather than exercise.
We will walk slowly, pause often, about 2kms over 2 hours! lots of time to be still, be aware, be quiet and silent!
There are roots, branges, mud on the paths. I will be very mindful of varying ability and if you can any concern about accessibility please get in touch and we can chat it through.
Bring more layers than you might feel you need, in slowing down we cool down and the temperature in under the trees tends to be cooler than outside.
